"I love to chat about art and life," says Park City newcomer Tanya Manfrediz. "I'm still making connections in Park City.” Though just a year into her PC experience, the gregarious Gallery Director of the newly opened LIK Fine Art on Main goes back 17 years with photographer Peter Lik. "We're both photo nerds," she says of their meeting in her native Miami. "I have helped open galleries from Chicago to Vegas. It's exciting to be a part of an expanding brand."
From a "huge Cuban family" in Florida, Tanya savors the change of lifestyle and environment Park City offers, with drones playing a growing role in her photographic exploration of her new surroundings. "It’s like a magical scavenger hunt,” she exclaims about the bird's eye view. "I especially enjoy discovering animals.”
Tanya is already a familiar figure on the vibrant local arts scene, working with the Gallery Association on monthly art strolls, connecting with locals, “and gallery hopping with artists that come to town.” She calls her work with Lik, the award-winning Australian nature photographer nationally known for his panoramas, her life's "most interesting chapter."
"I was doing a photo gig and stumbled upon his gallery," she recalls. "I was passionate about my work and Pete's photography. Eventually, I got the chance to work with him. Very serendipitous!"
"I notice little things," she says of her photographer's eye. "A reflection from a puddle, a smile, a window glare, a warm hug - the beauty we sometimes take for granted."
Dazzled by the mountain winter, Tanya loves living where "I can basically ski to work. Unheard of!" Her close-knit family and friends in Miami “have a definite fear of missing out” when learning of her new lifestyle, she laughs. "But who wouldn't?"
"I'm fun, friendly and always making new connections," Tanya candidly concludes, encouraging visits to LIK Fine Arts at 592 Main. "Please stop by and say hello!"
