“We don’t have to become our parents!” Dr. Stephanie Singer exclaims, extolling the benefits of healthy aging, peak vitality and sexual health. Voted “Best Medical Doctor” by Parkites, the founder and owner of Park City Gynecology, Park City Medesthetix and Cenegenics Park City recalls her youthful interest in medicine began when a 14-year-old friend in her native Brooklyn developed a gynecological malignancy. “She was treated successfully,” Dr. Singer, now an expert surgeon, remembers. “I feel her story is what drew me to gynecology.”
What drew her to Park City was deplaning at a packed JFK airport after a Utah vacation in the 90s. “I did a Yellow Pages search and realized there was no full time OB/GYN here, so I decided to make it happen!”
An avowed fitness fanatic and former marathoner, today Stephanie and husband Sandro enjoy lifting weights together. “Overall fitness is a priority for us,” she avers. So is a passion for learning. “I’m rarely without a webinar or podcast in my ear, and I’m usually reading two books at once.” Not to mention the app that is helping Stephanie learn Spanish and German.
But medicine is her real motivator. “I work hard and have almost zero social life,” she laughs. “I strive to be as educated as I can,” pointing out that hormone therapy, “vilified for decades,” is “finally being seen as essential for healthy aging” for most people. She also places an emphasis on skin care, helping skin age well and patients avoid plastic surgery. “We feel better inside when we look our best on the outside,” she smiles.
And outside where you will often find Stephanie, traveling and enjoying live music (she admits a weakness for electronic dance music). But chances are she will be at the office or surgical suite. “I love my craft,” she says firmly. “Having been a gynecologist since 1999, I feel I have gained so much knowledge.”
