"At first, it felt weird to lay in the water," says Pure Sweat Infrared Sauna and Float Therapy owner Stacey Millhorn. "After a few minutes, I drifted into a dreamlike state and had the best night's sleep!"
Stacey has a unique connection to the world of pain relief. Her background in the pharmaceutical industry and her personal experience of shoulder replacement makes her acutely aware of the pain of others. Seeking an alternative to medication, Stacey discovered Pure Sweat while living in Nashville. The results were transformative. "I experienced improved sleep, mental health, and even better skin," she recalls.
Stacey initially saw Park City skiing on college breaks, lured back years later for ski trips with her husband. Then came COVID. "We were working remotely and decided to 'move' to PC for a month. I wasn't sure I could handle four seasons plus snow," she laughs. "But we fell in love! We found a like-minded community that takes care of ourselves, loves the outdoors, music, and spending time together."
Not finding the Nashville Pure Sweat experience here, Stacey opened the first local franchise in the Newpark area last April and the South Jordan location six months ago. "I'm the owner of both studios and a franchisee," she explains.
Most people are encountering infrared sauna and float therapy for the first time, she says. "Then they see the suite and always say 'oooooh!'" she chuckles. "Back or neck pain, arthritis, sciatica – most people report feeling better after leaving the studio or the following day."
"It brings me joy."
Comfortably at home in the area with their French Bulldogs, the couple enjoy travel, skiing and, lately, mountain biking. "The mountain is still winning!" Stacey smiles.
"If we manage stress, pain control and improve sleep, we are a happier, calmer and rested community,” Stacey believes.
