“I live for growth, honesty and integrity,” affirms Alex Campbell of RTT Concierge in Park City and Nantucket. “I’m always open to listening and learning. ”And Alex acts quickly upon what he learns.
Growing up in a business-oriented Jamaican family, he cites his mother as a lasting influence. "She owned a small store on the beach and worked in hotel management in Israel, the Caymans and the US," he recalls.
Alex's youthful athleticism opened many doors, including a spot on the Jamaican national basketball team. "Playing introduced me to the Heineken Experience team, and they hired me," he says of a crucial early break.
Traveling to Oakland with Heineken for a reggae festival led to Park City and a company-sponsored UB40 appearance at Sundance in 2006. "I had no idea what the Sundance Festival was," he laughs.
Deciding to stay, Alex learned the local hospitality ropes in kitchens at Fireside Dining and Stein Eriksen while working as an offsite concierge, "making reservations for cars, restaurants, private chefs and finding spaces for private events," he says. Soon established as a reliable, full-service Park City concierge, in 2009, Alex began eyeing Nantucket. "My siblings and I spent summer there while my mom and aunts worked in the hotels," he says. "I started promoting myself to realtors and old connections." His toehold Nantucket job? "Night driving for celebrity guests!"
Always planning for what's next, "I'm on the verge of opening a private concierge and wine club, starting in Park City," he enthuses. Alex's positivity drives his success and overpowers obstacles, sometimes race-related ("it still happens," he laments).
Reflecting on almost 20 years in Park City, Alex is passionate about our town. "I embrace the love I feel every day, building businesses, friendships, and community."
"I also love going above and beyond for every client and every experience we plan together."
