"I told him I was a beach girl who would never move to the mountains," The Scout Guide Park City owner Sunny Logsdon says of meeting her husband, Brandon. "He proved me wrong!" They relocated from Texas in 2019 when their three kids were the right age to move. "We knew it was now or never, and we've never looked back."
Her Dallas media and marketing experience is perfect for The Scout Guide. "I saw it in New Orleans ten years ago," she says of the popular localized online and hardcopy guide. "The Scout Guide Park City was going strong when I got here, and I met the former owner through our daughters. When she was ready to move on, she called me."
Users log on to TheScoutGuide.com or pick up The Scout Guide booklet to find Sunny's handpicked businesses. "I want every business to be one I'd recommend personally," she says.
Brandon spent childhood years in Utah, and the couple knew of PC's "sense of intentionality," she observes. "People uproot themselves for an outdoorsy, family lifestyle and a new chapter. You feel it in how much people care."
"They are amazing at what they do," Sunny says of her small business clients. "I love the stories of how they got here and chose their business. Plus, I love the creative side of marketing, like positioning, messaging, and photo shoot ideas."
Sunny also savors blossoming with her growing family, joining her son's mogul team and "even Friday night football. We're still Texans at heart," she laughs. She's learned ski skating with the Betties Nordic ski group, but "the family has surpassed me in downhill skiing, so hitting the slopes with mom is not their speed anymore," she laughs.
Count Sunny as another Parkite who has found meaning in the mountains, honing her creativity while confident she's found the perfect spot for her children. "We love it here, and it shows," she smiles.
