Sheron immigrated to the U.S. in 1986, leaving her daughters, Nyesha and Tanisha, in Jamaica until they joined her in 1991. Food became their connection to home, and their Brooklyn apartment soon turned into a gathering place for parties filled with authentic Jamaican dishes, live DJs, and dancing. The mother-daughter trio later began selling food at the BAM Festival in New York City, long before a restaurant was ever part of the plan. After moving to Park City in 2005, the family spent four summers selling out their Jamaican food booth at the Park City Sunday Market.

In 2018, at 58 years old—and without a high school or college degree—Sheron opened 11Hauz, named after the family’s angel number: 11. It represents reflection, guidance, and trusting the path God sets. “Anything is possible with God, the right team behind you, family, consistency, love, joy and passion,” Sheron says.

Today, locals fuel the restaurant’s success as the family welcomes everyone to experience Jamaican culture through food cooked fresh to order. Rooted in faith, family and tradition, 11Hauz continues to serve more than meals—it serves a legacy.
