“When the kiddos are happy, every travel experience is happier,” says Crystal Christian with a knowing smile. As owner of Guardian Angels—Park City’s trusted source for child care, pet care, and family vacation support—she’s seen firsthand how peace of mind can transform a trip. “I get big sighs of relief!” Crystal smiles, thinking of new clients arriving in town with children and/or pets in tow.
Crystal grew up in Kamas, raised alongside the business by her mother, Guardian Angels founder Carol Passey. “She started in 1993, when I was five. She took me to jobs with kids my age,” Crystal recalls. “By college, I was a sitter and delivery angel—bringing groceries, baby gear, whatever traveling families needed.”
At the helm with husband Tyler since 2016, Crystal continues her family’s mission of care. With over 75 carefully vetted sitters and ‘delivery angels,’ Guardian Angels serves visiting families in their hotels and Airbnbs, while supporting locals with child and pet care during weddings, reunions, or a few blissful hours to themselves.
“We’ve been part of people’s lives for decades,” Crystal says. “We’ve watched kids grow up, start their own families, and come back to us for help with the next generation.”
Among the pair’s multiple ventures, Crystal calls Guardian Angels their “blessing business,” seeing that “families are blessed with peace of mind and our sitters are blessed with help achieving their goals,” she avers. “And for our family, it’s been a blessing from day one.”
When the work is done? “We love to have FUN!” she laughs, citing beach and mountain getaways, delivering homemade treats, and giving back through local theater, financial education, and community service.
“This is the place we will always call home,” she says fondly of mountain life. “The generosity of the families here is unparalleled. We love the tight-knit community where people feel seen and heard.”
