You may be among the 2,500 locals who can call Dr. Ross Jensen the very first person you ever met. “My dad practiced for over 40 years in Heber, Midway, and Park City,” says KMSkin owner Kris Marcey. “He delivered over 2,500 babies—including me—and was even Robert Redford’s on-set physician during Jeremiah Johnson.”
Turns out occasional brushes with show business helped guide Kris' career. As a student, she worked at Bel Viso in Salt Lake, “where two women formulated their own skincare and makeup line and I discovered my passion.” Invited to open a Bel Viso branch in Southern California, Kris received a tempting offer to work makeup on Little House on the Prairie, deepening her interest in the field, but chose to finish her studies at the University of Utah. Later, marriage took her back to LA, and realized her dream, running KMSkin in Westlake Village for 15 years. When COVID hit, she happily returned to the mountains to open KMSkin Park City.
“I have clients from all over,” Kris says, referring to the many visitors who now call Park City home. “They’re sophisticated, knowledgeable, and truly care about their skin.”
As winter approaches, Kris’ newest treatments, Back Attack and Foot Fetish, focus on deep cleaning, massage, and hydration for skiers. “I specialize in mature skin,” Kris adds. “Your skin is never too old to look younger! My go-to recommendations? Antioxidant serums, SPF 30, and retinol every night.”
The family local roots have spread far. Her brother Milton, one of Park City Mountain’s first ski instructors, is a classical guitarist in Spain, sister Cindy is a pediatric nurse in Salt Lake, and daughter Olivia, “my favorite person,” is thriving in Atlanta. Kris herself still loves the local trails, sharing the warm, inviting Mountainkind spirit.
“My dad always said, ‘You can take the girl out of the mountains, but you can’t take the mountains out of the girl.’ He was right!”
