You might think of a family business as two or three related people, but at Park City Blind and Design, it’s hard to keep track. Clint Olson, who co-founded the luxury window treatment company in 1995, is the pater familias. When his partner retired in 2017, Clint’s wife Ann joined full time, and she’s delighted that their children share the same enthusiasm. “Two daughters have chosen interior design careers, and three other children work with us full time,” Ann says with a smile. To keep things lively — and occasionally confuse clients — Ann’s identical twin, Amy, manages customer service. “It can be tricky even for employees,” Ann laughs.
In a town where mountain views and luxury living are prized, Park City Blind and Design is a sought-after resource. Their custom treatments, especially motorized options, combine artistry and technology. “Parkites value a timeless aesthetic and quality over quantity,” Ann notes. “They love the outdoors. Plus, Park City has attracted some of the most talented designers and builders anywhere. We love being part of it.”
Family life anchors the Olsons’ days. They support the Boy Scouts, multiple Girl Scout camps, and coach Little League sports. “Youth are the future,” Ann says emphatically. “We like having even a small impact.” Outside of work, Clint roars around on dirt bikes and indulges his passion for classic cars — “Porsche 911s and first-generation Mustangs are favorites,” Ann reveals. She, meanwhile, treasures time with the grandkids and a good book.
Native Westerners – Ann a Utahn and Clint Idaho born - the pair first came to the Wasatch Back when Clint helped open the business 30 years ago. Looking back, “We knew right away this was the place to be,” Ann says contentedly. “It’s a decision we’ve never regretted.”
