You can truly call yourself a local if you remember when Park City had one stoplight, as Mary Ann Pack does. “The corner of Park Avenue and Kearns, by the Yarrow,” smiles the founder and owner of Snowed Inn Sleigh Company.
In continuous operation since 1990, Snowed Inn embodies Mary Ann’s Mountainkind values of community and family. She raised two children here, and her work family includes Executive Chef Daniel and wife Andrea, GM Robyn and husband Keith, longtime reservation wrangler Brehan and her husband Kim,“our head cowboy ”who cares for the draft horses. “Olaf and Sven are one of our most popular horse teams,” Mary Ann grins. “Named after the Frozen characters, those big boys are great athletes who love to pull.”
The horses—and the food—are the stars. Signature entrees include prime rib, braised short ribs, chicken, and trout, served with grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. Local musicians play every dinner, adding to the warmth.
“It’s not just great food and music,” she enthuses. “The memories made at the lodge and on horse-drawn sleighs are pure magic. Our guests keep coming back—for the second, third, or even thirtieth time.”
With summer in the air, Mary Ann and her team are ready for private parties, weddings, and family gatherings that make Snowed Inn a year-round destination: accessible yet wonderfully private.
A friend from her hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi, sparked her move in 1986. “He said, ‘You have to move to Park City.’ I instantly fell in love!” The spark for Snowed Inn came after a memorable sleigh ride and dinner at The Homestead in Midway.
A recent Kenyan safari highlights Mary Ann’s adventurous spirit, and she never tires of introducing visitors to Snowed Inn’s unique Western experience. “I’m proud we’ve operated since 1990,” she says, “but it’s truly a team effort. It takes a lot of good people—and strong, beautiful animals—to make the magic happen.”
