Nils Imboden, Head Brewer at Top of Main Brew Pub and Brewery, grew up steeped in Park City’s Mountainkind spirit. His father, Adolph, ran Adolph’s restaurant for nearly 50 years, a welcoming place where locals and visiting celebrities gathered, and whose walls told the town’s story in photographs.
“Hospitality was part of my upbringing,” Nils says of being part of a historic local family. “Brewing our own Top of Main beers feels like a natural extension—the craft, the creativity, and the joy of sharing something new with others. Top of Main really reflects our place in the community.”
Two years after helping rebrand Wasatch Brewery at 250 Main Street, one of Utah’s oldest and home to many iconic local beers, Nils is energized by the way Top of Main is drawing crowds. “It’s brought people back,” he says with a smile. “Locals are curious about the new look, and visitors love the refreshed identity and the shop in the back.”
That success is gratifying to Nils on multiple levels. Professionally, it affirms his skills. “I hold a diploma from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling,” he notes. “It was rigorous, but I’m proud of it—and I use that knowledge every day.” Even more meaningful is “the chance to support community causes” like KPCW, Habitat for Humanity, and Summit Land Conservancy.
Like many Parkites, Nils sees business as inseparable from community life. A graduate of the Park City Leadership program (“Class 28, best class ever!”), he values working alongside others dedicated to Park City and Summit County.
“It’s hard to imagine living anywhere else,” he says, sitting at the colorful outdoor tables at Top of Main. “Whether it’s supporting nonprofits, collaborating with neighbors, or just sharing a beer after a day on the trails, being part of the Park City community has shaped who I am. I’ll always value that connection.”
