The word art often comes up when talking with Amanda Klatt and Megan Valverde of Vyla Aesthetics—two women with decades of hospital and ER experience who were ready for a more creative chapter.
“I loved the hands-on aspect and how artistic it is,” says co-owner and founder Amanda of their growing aesthetics practice, now at 1821 Sidewinder. “Combining medicine and art was perfect for my next phase,” adds Megan. Amanda opened Vyla in 2020, and Megan joined two years later.
An ER nurse who considered flight nursing (“but I was too scared to get on the helicopter,” she laughs), Amanda discovered aesthetics while studying for her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Simmons University in Boston. “I knew it was the field for me.”
Megan’s path was different. “After ten years in hospitals, I moved to Amsterdam for a break,” says the New York native, who earned her medical education at Boston College and UMass. “My family came to Park City for a summer vacation and said, ‘We need to stay here!’”
Amanda agrees. “I grew up in Draper, and my husband’s a Montana mountain guy. Park City checked all our boxes—beautiful mountains, small-town feel, and a great community.”
Named Park City’s Best Botox, Best Med Spa, and Best Facial of 2024, Vyla offers SkinPen microneedling, IPL, DiamondGlow facials, Nutrafol for hair regrowth, Morpheus8, SKINVIVE by Juvederm, vitamin and antioxidant therapy and more. “People in Park City are kind, giving, and totally badass,” Megan laughs. “I love when clients come in still in ski gear or hiking boots.”
Both moms of three, Amanda and Megan share a love of family and the outdoors. Amanda, an ultramarathoner who has run “a couple of hundred-milers,” also skis, bikes, and recently discovered mahjong. Megan’s a crossword fanatic as well as a mountain biker and skier. “We work and play in PC right alongside our clients, while offering a beautiful office and welcoming staffers,” Amanda concludes. “Please come see us!”
